As we finish our series on Bernard of Clairvaux’s Four Degrees of Love, we end with the final degree which talks about becoming so consumed by love of God that we lose a sense of our own selfish desires and agendas. Instead we become connected to God’s will. His plans become our plans; His love our love.
This overwhelming sense of connection to God may only last a few blissful moments, but we can use it to motivate and empower us to live lives defined by love in the every day moments. Love is a choice, and we need to decide whether or not we want love to govern our entire lives.
Will you allow God to transform you so that love is the primary motivation for all your choices?
