  • Making a Difference with Our Gifts

God has blessed you mightily with gifts and talents. And He asks you to use those gifts for His Kingdom. Let us reflect upon the idea of making a difference with the gifts God gives us. How can we use our gifts to serve others? 1 Peter 4:7-11 James 1:16-18 Matthew 22: 37-40 Mark 12:31 Subscribe to the YouTube Channel Follow Streatham Vale Baptist Church on Social Media: www.facebook.com/groups/streathamvalebc/ @streatham_vale_baptist_church on Instagram @Rev_AlexFisher to follow Pastor Alex on Twitter Email Pastor Alex at minister.alex@outlook.com

  • Seeking God

Knowing God and being united to Him is the most precious treasure we could ever have or imagine. Paul wrote "What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things." Knowing Christ, and being part of His Kingdom is the best thing we can ever know. So how are you seeking God this year? Are you choosing to seek God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength? • Recognising our Identity in Christ

We constantly try to reinvent ourselves so that we fit in more, find acceptance or satisfaction. But we can only find our true identity in Christ, who redeems us and welcomes us into the family of God. Through Jesus, we are a new creation, we are loved, chosen, children of God. How does this impact the way you view the world? Take time to reflect upon this as you go about your week this week. 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 Colossians 3:3 1 John 3:1 Subscribe to the YouTube Channel Follow Streatham Vale Baptist Church on Social Media: www.facebook.com/groups/streathamvalebc/ @streatham_vale_baptist_church on Instagram @Rev_AlexFisher to follow Pastor Alex on Twitter Email Pastor Alex at minister.alex@outlook.com

  • Forgiving the Past to Heal the Future

As we continue to journey into this New Year, take time to reflect on the year that has just been, to allow God to heal the wounds of the past. When we are hurt or betrayed, we can be tempted to either try to bury it, sweeping it under the carpet and trying to ignore the pain coming from that wound. Or we become angry or resentful, allowing bitterness to build up in us. Neither method allows us to heal and move on from the pain and so we remain chained to the hurt. But Jesus pointed us to a better way, the way of forgiveness. So, what does this mean in practice? How can we learn to forgive as God forgives us?
