We continue looking at the Four Degrees of Love as explained by theologian Bernard of Clairvaux. And as we look at each of these degrees of love, we consider how understanding more about the way we love can help us grow in faith and our relationship with God. This week we consider the second degree of love, which loves God but for the self’s sake. Explore with us what this means, and how this affects our relationship with God and others.
