While on the cross, Jesus looked down to see His mother standing there with one of His disciples. And Jesus issued an invitation to adoption – for the disciple and His mother to become a family.
In these words, Jesus foreshadows our adoption into the family of God and He also demonstrates the heart of God, which has compassion for the most vulnerable in society.
How can we be comforted, challenged and inspired by Jesus’ words to His mother and His disciple?
