When thinking about addictions, I’m sure many people would like to deny they are addicted. Someone might say: “I don’t take drugs, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I don’t gamble, so I can’t be an addict!” But the truth is we are all addicted to something. Addictions are when we pursue something other than God habitually to give us comfort, relief, even when it is harmful to us. That’s the bad news — we are all addicts. The good news is that Jesus came to set us free and give us a new life. Let us come to God once again and receive His freedom. Read more

Identify Bad Habits

During January, many people set new year resolutions with the aim of improving and being better than last year. But most of the time new year resolutions fail, because we do not rely on God, nor do we seek to change what He wants us to change. And so we begin a series looking at our habits and asking God to help us identify things He wants us to change, and then seek His guidance to carry out these changes in our lives. We begin by looking at the need for us to identity bad habits. Read more
