Loving by Humble Service
Loving like Jesus / 17
Jesus stooped down and washed His disciples’ feet - He washed the feet of the disciples who would abandon Him, of Simon Peter who would deny Him and of Judas who would betray Him. And then Jesus instructs us to do likewise. To be willing to humble ourselves and serve the people around us. Who is God calling you to serve this week? John 13:1-17 Ephesians 6:7

What we can and can’t do
Loving like Jesus / 16
This week we look at the love of Jesus, a truly amazing thing that we can never fully replicate. We take time to look in awe at His amazing love for us. And then we also consider the ways we can love like He does. John 12:20-36

Attitude towards Jesus and others
Loving like Jesus / 15
Does the way we interact with Jesus have an impact to the way we interact with others? Does loving God affect the way we love others? These are some of the questions we reflect upon as we look at John 12:1-11 John 12:1-11 John 11:45-53 Mark 10:43-44

Standing Alongside and Giving Hope
Loving like Jesus / 14
In this week’s reflection, we look at how Jesus shows His awesome love to those who have just lost a loved one. We see how Jesus showed His great compassion and wept at Lazarus’ tomb. And we see the hope and joy that Jesus gave them, and us as He raised Lazarus from the dead, and reminds us that death holds no power over Him. John 11:1-44

Listening to the Shepherd
Loving like Jesus / 13
This week we meet Jesus, the Good Shepherd, and we listen to how the Good Shepherd loves and cares for us so much that He lays down His life as a sacrifice for us. Listen as we find out what we can learn about how to love from the Good Shepherd. John 10:1-21

Being messengers of healing
Loving like Jesus / 12
In this week’s reflection, we reflect upon one man’s amazing healing by Jesus, as Jesus heals him physically, socially, spiritually. Jesus’ healing is not merely a physical thing but touches people in our entirety. God wants to heal us. And He wants to do it through us. He has placed His Spirit within us and calls us to be messengers of His healing, taking His power and love to all we meet. Read more

Showing Love Through Grace and Truth
Loving like Jesus / 11
This week we look at the events in John 8:2-11 and examine the different characters in the scene. And we ask ourselves, how is our own behaviour and attitudes reflected by the characters? What can we learn from this about how to love others as Jesus does? John 8:2-11

Speaking God’s Words
Loving like Jesus / 10
God calls us to speak His Words with power and authority through the power of the Holy Spirit, not to gain glory for ourselves but to glorify Him, our Almighty God. He challenges us to speak out against situations of injustice and hypocrisy. Are we willing to live this radical life as we follow Jesus? Are we willing to risk being opposed for speaking God’s words of love and truth? Read more

Loving God, Finding Security, Passing it on
Loving like Jesus / 9
If we want to love others as Jesus does, we first need to love God and receive the love that He pours into us. Only then can we share that sacrificial, supernatural love with others. Only when we know the security that comes from a relationship with God can we share that with others. John 6:16-29

Involving Others
Loving like Jesus / 8
Loving like Jesus means we have to learn to let go of our self-sufficiency and call others to help. Jesus wants us to work as a team, no matter how talented we believe ourselves to be. There will always be something we need help in, and so we are called to involve others in our story. John 6:1-15
