Lent: Journeying with Jesus: Jesus is arrested and tried
null
As we enter Holy Week, we take time to reflect. Last week we saw how the crowds celebrated and rejoiced because their King was coming into Jerusalem. This week, we see how those cries turn from celebration to condemnation.
We read as Jesus is arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, taken to the house of the High Priest to be put on trial. We see Peter warming his hands in the courtyard, while Jesus is mocked and beaten in the guardroom, until finally He is taken to the Sanhedrin.
Jesus suffered through all this though He is totally sinless and innocent. But, He took our place, shouldered our punishment, and suffered our sentence. All so that we could go free. So what is your response? What will you do? What will you say when you look at what Jesus went through for you?

“the dehumanised humanity that has lost its way and spat in God’s face.”
