Lent: Journeying with Jesus: Jesus before His enemies
null
Once again, those who oppose Jesus come to Him to try to trap Him so they can get rid of Him once and for all. The Pharisees and Herodians team up, sent by the Chief Priests, Teachers of the Law and Elders to try to ensnare Jesus in a trap.
How do they try to do this? By questioning, should they pay the imperial tax! A very thorny issue indeed!
But, Jesus used this moment to call people to ‘give to God what is God’s’, a reminder that our whole lives belong to God, and He calls us to live according to His revolutionary Kingdom.
How is God calling you to live as an ambassador for His Kingdom in this fallen world?
Mark 12:12-17 Deuteronomy 4:15-16 1 Peter 2:13-14
Quote: C.S. Lewis “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”
